About the Trip, from Addi:

Open ocean, charming Hiways, scenic backwaters, lofty hills, gurgling streams, roaring waterfalls, dense jungles and delicious food. If these can't inspire a man's soul then nothing in the world will….welcome to Ugadi odyssey..

It is time to celebrate Ugadi...HiwayRebel style. Get ready to burn some rubber and set the tarmac on blaze. Let the action begin…

Saturday
1) Winding ghat sections from Chickmangalur to Aagumbe will certainly blow you out. Quick twisting of the bike on S chaped curves has enough punch for the biker in you.
2) Trek in the dense rainforests of Aagumbe to reach Barkana waterfalls. Aagumbe is the land of highest rainfall in K'taka and is the abode of King cobras.
3) If you survive the above trek then reward yourself with hot and delicious lunch at our fav Taj Hotel. One of the best experience HiwayRebels had in all their trips was at this hotel where the owner served us food with such personal care and attention that it could put some of the finest restaurants in Bangalore to shame.
4) Reach Udupi in time to watch the sunset at Malpe beach.
5) What could be more rewarding then having Udupian dinner at nowhere else but Udupi. Satisfy your taste buds with the cuisine that had made it's name all across the globe.

Sunday
1) Start early morning and enjoy the 40 odd km ghat ride to Hebri. Driving early morning in the mist covered hills, riding pass few sleepy villages is a unforgettable experience.
2) Trek to Koodluteertha. I am sure that the attached image can't do justice to it's natural beauty but it is just an eye opener of the glory of mother nature.
3) Reach back udupi to go to St Mary's Isles. The first point where Vasco Da Gama dropped his anchor before entering India at Kozhikode.
4) Checkout from Udupi and drive on NH17 to Maravante. The hiway runs beside the sea. At some points it is sandwiched between Sowparnika river backwater and the Arabian sea. A national highway nestled between sea on one side and a gorgeous backwaters on the other, while the sun sets into the ocean rendering the wide open sky with beautiful light golden colour is a view to behold. Park your bikes at such a junction and watch the sunset in the backdrop of arabian sea. The image will linger in your memories for long
5) Dig into Kundapuri style dinner with Bangda(Mackerel) curry and Kane (ladyfish) masala fry. For more adventurous mussels and squids are on the menu. Veggies will have lot options in Neeru dosa, Kori rotti, Kottes and never to speak about 101 dishes a typical udupian waiter will throw at you to choose from.

Monday
1) Day of fun, frolic and play in the water. Spend your time lazing out and relaxing your tired senses at the beach
2) Let loose on the wild waves at beaches of Koradi and Bijadi.
3) Let's go boating into the open ocean. Feel how it likes to be in the middle of nowhere, the huge intimidating ocean around you.
4) Facilities of snorkelling and scuba diving into the coral reefs are available. (Might be expensive and left to personal interests).
5) Venture into backwaters of sowparnika river and visit few islands there.
6) Udupian dinner and hangout at beach for late night party.

Tuesday
With 465 km to cover to get back home there is nothing much to do here except a short stop at Ullal beach near Mangalore. Having Mangalorean food and watching Mangalorean girls will set the Romeo inside you….back on tracks. For the less knowledgeable: Aishwarya Rai is from Mangalore.

HiwayRebels will cover Udupi, Maravante and Managalore and addressing some unfinished business at Agumbe (Barkana and Koodluteertha). Trip involves Biking, trekking, boating, waterfalls, beaches, backwaters, islands and loads of fun.
